CREAM MK1 GOLF GTI - S1 REAR PANEL - MK4 GTI INTERIOR
It is with great regret that i have to put my mk1 up for sale after 2 years of ownership.
the mk1 started off when i first got it as a standard black gti. it was in good condition for its year but since then has gone through a full refurbishment.
This car would certainly be appreciated by a Volkswagen enthusiast as it has been totally restored up a modern standard. It undertook a full respray late last year where i changed the colour to Cream. It has a sunroof. I had brand new genuine wings and front panel fitted as well as a new early small rear light panel from a 1980 mk1 that i broke for parts. This was also fitted along with a new genuine lower rear valance. It was fully sprayed inside and out and the finish is amazing. i seem to get compliments where ever i go in it!
i'm really into VW's and knock about with alot of people who own them who are also fellow enthusiasts.Every single person who has seen this car in the metal instantly loves it! Ideally it need to be seen in the flesh to be appreciated. it also has a full mk4 golf interior consisting of front and rear seats which are very comfortable and stylish and in keeping with vw's ultra reliable equipment. The front seats are height adjustable. it also has a custom rear strut brace which incorporates the fitting of the rear bench. The car is on standard shocks with Gmax lowering springs all round but ideally coilovers wouldn't go a miss The wheels were imported from Germany and are Exip Kings 7x15 et 30 front and et 25 rear and are absolutely mint, no scuffs what so ever which have diamond cut faces and rims. The tyres are Toyo Proxy T1-S all round matching"rain spreaders". i'm also going to include another Exip King wheel as a spare which i bought seperately with no tyre although 30-40 quid should be plenty for a tyre.
The engine runs sweet as a nut. Typical of a VW, starts first time, every time and pulls like a train. No smoke etc just a nice reliable setup. I had another gearbox fitted early 2006 for longer gear ratios so that it can stand long 70mph motorway journeys at low revs and this has been a very sucessful modification.it runs nice and quiet.
The car was also fitted with a TOAD Ai606 CAT 1 alarm and immobiliser in June 2007. whilst that was done i also had remote central locking installed as an added extra with solenoids all round. The boot does need connecting though as the bloke who fitted the alarm let me down and wont return my phone calls to do this. i have all necessary paperwork and certificate for this. This will make a significant change to insurance quotations.
Unfortunately the only parts that need finishing are the headlining which i have (brand new) and am willing to supply with the car. Then also the engine bay as i never had it sprayed due to the fact that i was planning on a engine conversion in the future but as she runs so well i never really got round to removing it for such a minute job. Don't worry though i will be including the 2 pac paint so you can finish the bay and needn't worry about the match. After these 2 jobs are done it will be ready to show as far as i'm concerned.
