Condition / comment on the car:
Engine/Running gear:
- Rolling road fuel setup last December, gave >160bhp. Have no frame of ref on this Rolling road and it wasn't intended as a power run, but it was a good indication and the A/Fs were decent through the rev range. Brand new injectors and modified WUR at the time.
- Car is sluggish at low revs then picks up fine, the joint between Manifold and new exhaust system is leaking which is more than likely causing this.
- Few broken wires in CSV loom, idle system not hooked up fully. The car takes a few attempts to start if not used for a while.
- Not used much at the moment so brakes could do with a check over and a clean.
Body:
- Rust in few usual places, including bubbling around sunroof. Filler cap panel and sills are the worst parts. More specifically there is a hole at rear end of the driver side sill that will need attention for next MOT.
- A number of previous repairs on floorpan have surface rust, these are solid and should be easy enough to clean back and paint.
- It had body work done by the previous owner including new boot, rear panel and bonnet, Front and Rear bumper skins, replacement doors and a light metal flake in lacquer over the Mars Red, not really noticeable unless bright sun. Paint is lifting in a few places including swage line and tops of doors, a few dents including pass side door.
Interior:
- Mountney Steering wheel, VDO gauges. Driver seat has worn bolter. Sunroof liner removed (included). Rear parcel shelf supports and seatbelts have been removed to allow for access for a repair to seatbelt mount (also included).
I took it out this weekend for a 5-10 miles drive and it slapped a grin straight back on my face! I now commute by motorbike, this combined with a move into London means I can't justify having the Mk1 as well. If I have a car it will likely have to be something more practical.
I may consider exchanges or genuine offers.
Thanks for your interest,
David
