personally though I've got pattern ones which fit quiet nicely (not perfect but good enough) after some slight adjustment to the top edges

Anyone have any experience of their fit and finish?

I have just bought a pair of genuine wings from VW ?183.00 !! The part number is for the Caddy and they come with no side indicator holes or bumper mouting holes so will suit all MK1's , but the passenger side has a hole for the antenna . Finish is top class and once bolted on can be painted with out any fuss.
Could have had a pair of patterns for ?78.00 !! The price of one genuine wing [nearly].The genuine wings are a fantastic fit as you would expect , the patterns good but fit can only be describe as good to average leaving large gaps around the window frame bottom and door and some filling where it meets the front valance . All pattern wings are probably from the same source , but i would recommend Hadrian / LMC for any repair or pattern panel as good … http://www.perfectpanels.co.uk/
Like every thing on this Planet now its how much you want to spend ..

wings are off now, inner wings dont look too bad
The car is an 81 model and has obviously been looked after, except someone has put a drivers side wing on it at some time and its rotted along the top edge.(answered my own question really  )
I've ordered the genuine wings, front panel and im going inner wings too for good measure, the body guy is popping over tomorrow to steer me in the right direction.
When the bay is painted my twin carb'd ABF will be slotted in-Cant wait! 8)
This will be a real sleeper-pics to follow……

Going to take alot of work and to get it to sit right but at ?40 for the pair its really all about what you want I guess. Also bought a pattern front panel and bonnet and must say I am very impressesd with them as the front panel lined up perfect.

i remember back in the early nineties (feelling my age)
a friend bought a bonnet from one of the big specialist and it had pressing marks all over it where the vents were push into it.
Took a lot of prep to get it nice.
