Vent heating
Now that the cold weather has set in I've found that whilst the windscreen and footwell vents in my Mk 1 clipper provide nice hot air, the adjustable ones either side of the car deliver an icy blast unless I shut them off. :dontknow:
Is this as it should be?
Cheers

Yup - That is the way it should be. I have two mark ones and they are both exactly the same. It took me a little while to figure it out as I can't be arsed with reading handbooks.

Yes, the large side vents that you can angle up, down and side to side are fresh air vents. Not controlled by the heater system.
The levers control the system as follows…
As you look at the controls there are 3 levers top right, top left and bottom.
1. If you slide top left and right levers to the right, then air will be directed onto the windscreen.
2. Move left hand lever to left and air will go to windscreen and feet.
3. Move right hand lever to left and air will go to feet but not screen.
4. Move left hand lever to right while right hand lever is to left and the air flow will stop.
The side vents that are moveable will have lots of air passage if the levers are placed in possition 4 and will have reduced air flow if any of the other positions 1-3 are used.
Hope that helps.
