Sunroof drain tubes

Hi,

Want to replace a sunroof drain tube. Sunroof, drain holes and tray all solid but no tube sticking out between wing and door? I have had no leaks into car but want to make it correct.

Windscreen has been removed for paint. Any tips on replacing tube needed.

Thanks

Whats involved in fitting the tube, how much of the roof lining needs pulling back?

It could be that your car has received a respray before and the bodyshop took the door or wing or both off, then pushed the pipe into the body prior to spraying. If this is the case then hopefully the other end will still be located at the roof end. The downside here is that any water that has been draining through it has been going straight doown your A-panel and into your sill :banghead: Anyway, having experienced similar I would carefully peel the headlining away from around the screen. Peel back enough so you can see in there and also get your hand in towards the tray corner without putting too much strain on the vinyl lining. (I wouldn't take the lining away from around the sunroof aperture as there is a corner here and it can more easily split). If the tube is still there, pull it off and fully retrieve it. Then feed it up through the hole behind the wing and watch/feel for it coming back up towards the sunroof. Make sure you don't feed it in too far and loose the end behind the wing ! Attach the loose end to the sunroof spout and that's that bit done. A good contact adhesive such as Evostik (recommended by my local trimmers) applied to the headlining then allows you to neatly fold the edge back in place. Take it slowly and avoid ripples at this stage.

That should keep you right.

Check the bore of the pipe on the other side, if its got one, where it appears behind the wing. Otherwise, remove the boot cards and you should be able to see the rear drain pipes.
