Single light/grill conversion

Hi, chances are, this is going to be a daft question, but what is the process for a conversion to a single light grill? Is there any electronics needed? A different set of lights?

Both my Mk1 Golfs are already single light grille.

I think you need to tell us which model/year car you have.

It's an '85 gti cabriolet. I don't have the car yet, I hoping to have a look this weekend, and I'm considering options for it.

You should be okay just replacing the twin grille with a single, and taping up the extra wires. Later clipper models had a slightly different grille, always with 4 lamps. Some people say you can just swap the old ones on, some people have tried and their clip holes are not aligned.
