Securing interior door handle

Hello!

I've got an annoying issue with the interior door handle - the clip that holds the serrated edged metal bit at the top of the handle is missing, and I've looked all over but cant find one.

Does anyone have any for sale, or has anyone managed to bypass this issue?

I have to shut in the passenger at present otherwise they're left with the handle in their hand, and it'd be nice if they could do it themselves, haha!

they do come up cheaper 2nd hand from time to time but I cant find them new anywhere, part number is 161 867 199

Crikey! Thanks for the linky though. I've found some on type-17.de without the plastic bits which are a damned site cheaper.

Does no one in the UK stock them then?

not that i have found, my best hope was vw heritage or classic parts but no luck! the plastic bit is just there to stop water getting in, if you seal up the hole with tape first that'll sort you out

yeah in cab and rocco right up to 1992! shoulnt be long till classic parts start doing em again i expect. if it was me id be in scrappy every weekend, mine has a cabrio in there now and again. or wanteds, jellybelly breaks about 20 million mk1s a week so will have some
