Seat runner help

Hi all,
I've replaced the nylon sliders on my front seats  (the 2 bits that go into the seat runners  and attach to the legs at the back of the seat base). These move a lot better now and are solid but there's still some up and down play at the front of the seat which is just held by the peg on the adjuster handle.
The kit had a couple of half-round rubber bits in with a rectangular lug on which I was told fit on somehow for the front of the seat to rest on but I can't figure out how they go on.

Has anyone got a picture to help out or could you even just describe how they fit?

The part is at the bottom of the pic here - bought from Crazyquffs

Thanks in advance

sorry i dont have a pic but, take your seat back out (or nearly out), take the rubber bit and it fits on the bracket where the slider bolt goes in, it has a rubber bung that fits in the hole on there, it only goes in one way

hope that helps, ill try n get a pic for ya

Ah right - thanks for the link. Very useful. I don't think my car ('83 tintop) has the hole in the top of the bracket as in the picture but will check again.

Could any tintop owners confirm if it's different?

Cheers

Early Tin tops are different not sure on the year though but early ones look like this.

Late cabby ones dont fit.
There usually is a squre hole for the rubber bung to fit in on the later ones.

Been a couple of weeks before I've had time to get back to this but this is how both of mine look:

They don't look like they've been butchered and the car has its original seats in so I can't see why theywould have been. ANy ideas anyone?

Cheers

Look at the post above, you can see the part yours doesn't have.

I think there's more to it than that tbh - I cut the lug off the rubber thingy to try and glue it on but the top of the pressing is horizontal on mine rather than angled and there is only 2mm of clearance between the bracket and the seat runner so it just doesn't fit.

No idea what's happened but anyway I've made some 2mm plastic skids from building packers and have then glued these on the top with araldite. It's hardening overnight and I'll put the seats back on at the front tomorrow. I think it should work and it won't get much stress from moving the seats back and forth as I'm the only person that drives the car.

Thanks again for your input

Rubjonny you are a legend.

I see GPC sell these - will get some

The Araldite didn't bond well to the plastic packers…

Sorry chortle - got confused between being told 'they're all the same' , the 'early' type (mine is a very late tintop) and pics of the cabby part.

All fitted as above and seats are  rock solid
