Rotten Sills

Hey lads. Just a question as the golf I'm after has some rotten sills and ideally they would need chopping off and some new ones welded in… Car is pretty original and there's non of that re-production sh** that you can buy in UK and other countries. Is there any chance to actually buy genuine VW sills to fit a Mk1 GTI ?? Might sound stupid but I just don't know if you can buy some original VW ones or re-production replacements … I know this isn't the part that you'll notice straight away as it's fully sprayed and same lookin' piece but it's always beter the have stuff from VW ! and if not then are the re-production sills any decent ?? Thanks ! 

there is nothing wrong with using pattern ons get them welded on and use wax oil inside them and they will last for years.
If you can get your car to south wales i could do them for ya.

Problem is that I'm based on the Isle of Man    but I've been working at the bodyshop garage for three years now so I've picked my knowledge from there , just wanted to know how the re-production sills are like

Check out the projects section and see some of the work that I and many others have done. Like said above as long as prepare them properly and seal them up properly at the end you should have no problem.
