Respray

Hi,
   How much should I be looking to pay for a respray on a clipper. I want to keep it the same colour (Helios Blue) but garages round here seem to be a little backward with coming forward with a price because of the colour. (Unuasul colour apparently, complete bo**ox I think).

Just had my Clipper done in Alpine white

I prepared the car took roof  doors glass etc off.

The cost was ?1600 I don't know if this is cheap or expensive  :dontknow:

But at the end of the day I enjoyed working on the Clipper and I'm enjoying

putting it all back together

A lot depends on how much work has to be stripping and prep wise. it is and can be labour intensive, especially if you have got lots of rust, welding to do. Like Robbo did perhaps you could offer to strip the car of non essentials for the garage to save time, as for the prep it depends on your skills etc, but don't be surprised if they say more prep needs to be done by them to get the finish spot on. I would remove the roof etc so you can check for rot on the rear lip the hood and cables fit in. As for the paint ask them how much they would need, then get it mixed elsewhere i.e. paint motor factors etc. deducting the cost of the paint from the job. If they don't give you a price after all that then they don't want the work. Ask around for recommendations from people you know have had spraying done.
