paintwork preping question
ok guys just been sorting the rust on the other halfs mini a mate of mine is going to give it a blow over in the next couple of weeks just realy need to know what the best way to prep it by hand what grade of sand paper to start with then what to do once primed ie what wet flat to use
not to bothered about getting all the scratches out of the paint just want the car the same colour
anyone got a guide??? :dontknow:

i use 80 to knock down filler then finish it with 180, high build primer will easily cover that coarseness. then wet flat primer with 600 and you should have a perfect surface to paint on.

yeah thats right use a nice high solid clearcoat and you will be able to polish out scratches or runs you might get, also if ya put couple coats of high solid bake it and then rub down with 1200, 1500, then 2000 wet & dry and polish out for a mirror finish!
