outer front window rubber trim

could any one please tell me where i can get all new rubber sills that fit around the front large window on the mk1 golf gti. i went into vw and they told me that they are now absolete does anyone no of aftermarket ones

The front window seals are infact still available from VW. They are however quite expensive. There are two types. One has the chrome lock strip the other (found on some GTI) are solid rubber.

I've seen some on Ebay. Sometimes cheaper than from VW.
