New hood for my cab

Is is an easy job to fit one?
Do I need any other bits and pieces or can I use whats already there? (current cables ect are in good order)
If anybody here is in/around the Northans area and has fitted one before would they be willing to help or fit it for a price of course? 8)
Thanks

Everything you need to know.

White 1991 Clipper. Lowered over polished zender rims, Single 40 dellorto on lynx manifold, kent cam, full stainless 'zorst / manifold, powerflex bushed and braced. Not the fastest car, but sounds super nice!
Still going after 12 years… never said it was a quick fix! Time is not my friend.

I did mine and it was not to bad. I did a complete makeover including the headliner and padding bag as well so it was time consuming.
I would use new cables especially the rear tensioning wire as these stretch and are not expensive, again Ebay
One issue may be the state of the padding cover underneath, plus the condition of the rear window frame. Mine was totally un useable.
They can disentegrate when you push the window out.
You would need some good glue I got mine off Ebay.

The difficult part is getting the material tucked under the rear lip and you would need to fashion some form of drift to assist, I placed 2 pieces of wide masking tape on the body to help keep the hood alighned as mine was grey I marked it with a chinagraph pencil these marks were transferd onto the tape too.
You will need a 10mm ratchet spanner to tighten the rear tensioning cable nut and a 6mm spanner that holds the cable so it does not twist.
Make sure you remember to put the tonneau cover tabs onto the rear cable before you thread them through the hood and again mark threir original positions on the tape.
I also relaced the foam gasket seals at the same time, as this helps stop water getting in.

It was just over £100, it's not on as yet, due to a change of circumstance it'll be a few more weeks before it goes on.
If the fit isn't perfect It won't matter as the car is far from perfect! If it was then I'd have a mohair job fitted by a pro!
My main concern is the holes in the corners that really detract from the car.
My friend had a "second" hood fitted to her cab and it looked fine, You couldn't notice the defects.
It's all down to cash, if you spend the money you can expect it to be right. End of the day, mine usually has a toneau cover over it when the car goes out.
If I can't run with the top down then the skoda goes…
