mk1 golf sunroof? help!!!!!!!!

my mk1 golf sunroof has finaly got to me, it leaks terably, it hasnt realy botherd me all sumer but after a downpoor last night my seat was soaked and i was forced to sit on it, please can anybody help, were can i get hold of a new rubber, i have been told i might be able to get a mk3 polo one to fit, thanks

Is it a factory fitted steel roof or an aftermarket glass one?

The seal around the sunroof is not meant to be waterproof. When mine was leaking I removed the sunroof and discovered that there were rust holes in the tray that is supposed to carry the rainwater away to the channels and drain pipes. Fixing up the tray stopped the leakage into the car.
