Mk 1 Wet Floor

Hi guys i am new to this site as from yesterday,,my son bought his first car which of course is the brilliant Mk 1 golf we dont know the car that well yet but we were having a good look tutha day & the drivers floor is soaking wet the carpet is not wet but under that its wet wet wet,,,the floor looks ok & so does the door seal,,is this a common ish fault for a car of 24 yrs any advice would be great cheers Rick. :dontknow:

Check the plastic sheet behind the door car is in tact ans attached properly, this could be the problem.

Have a search around in the bodywork and fittings forum

Blocked drainholes on the scuttle, leaking grommets in the bulkhead, windscreen seal, doors

Still trying to find my leak

Don't let wooders hear you talking about tintops like that . true though it could be anything. Have you tried the old talc test yet?

I have had a leak for ages and still searching for the cause.....if you find it let me know pleaseeeeeeeee :dontknow:
