Mixing 2k paints
Hi,
I'm in need of a little bit of advice.
When I spray I mix my 2k paint 2 parts paint, 1 part Gardner and 10% thinners. However, when I have used a cup/mixing pot of paint I set about mixing another pot. In the time it takes me to remix I'm sure the paint starts to harden in the gun. As soon as I refill my gun and set of spraying again the gun splutters a bit making the paint go blochy.
How would you go about mixing your 2k paint up? Do you have it all mixed in the tin ready to just pour and spray or would the hardener make it set in the tin. Or would you just mix a load of pot up?
Cheers

2 to 1 ratio is correct make sure your gun aint clogged up.
set your gun up so it sprays almost a strait line on some test paper.

hi paint can be mixed 3 to 1 as well depending on the type and quality of the paint DuPont is 3 .1 as it is 2 k hs ,high solids but this will make no difference on the time the hardens goes off when mixed in a pot you should be able to use and leave for at least 30 mins so something is wrong with hardener should last up a year so don't no whats going off you can ask you paint supplier for a data sheet this would help
