Matt paint respray

Im looking to get a respray in matt paint maybe a gunmetalish sort of colour, maybe not to everyones taste but still...does anyone know about cleaning it..is it just a case of using wash and wax and then shammying off? anyone know any decent paint shops in west midlands and maybe an idea of a price? cheers Mitch

If its dont right it should be done with a MATT lacquer over the colour.

Rule 1:do NOT polish (it will make it shiny)

Rule 2: try not to use any waxes etc as this too will make it appear shiny

Price wise you should be looking between 8 and 1500 quid depending on who you use and how much prep work needs doing.

Try and save a bit by doing as much of the prep as you can ie: stripping it down and doing as much of the pre paint sanding as you can. Dont be afraid to ask the guys at the bodyshop what you can do to help them as it makes their life easier and hopefully yuor bill cheaper

PS will take more looking after in a matt finish

ive been upto a reputable spray shop up by me, i got quoted 650-700 for a matt black finish and for them to filler in where my wiper once was and smooth it all off. So when you say done properley with a matt laquer whats the laquer going to do, will it change the appearance? thanks for the info mate
