leaking boot
hi, some how water is getting in through the seal around the boot. iv tried taking it off and refitting it but it still leaks. also the seal does not fit all the way around the boot, thr is a gap at the bottom where the two ends meet (waters not gettin in through here tho) .
any idea how its getting through the seal??

Are you sure it's the boot seal and not the seals round the rear lights - took me a while to find that's where mine was leaking on the GTI…….drove me nuts !!

yeh its definatly the boot seal, somewhere near the top of the hatch cos sometimes i can see where its run down the inside of the car, down the C pillar to the floor.

Worth checking to make sure the ruber boot which take the cables from the roof inot the hathc isn;t split / persihed where it goes into the main body of the car. this wil lalso let wate rin at the top of the hatch and give similar symptons
