hood leaking onto front seats

Anyone know if it is a seal? (not the small fat furry things that like mackeral) as i can't see any gaps.

I tried EVERYTHING…..it was the hood fabric itself - had gone porous !!!! Demonstrated by holding it up (once removed) and putting water in it - pored through it like a sieve !!!!!
New outer skins - no more leaks…..both cars totally dry….

Can also be caused by broken side cables that. the roof does not come far enough over the window top causing the leak.
…yes they COULD if the roof sides expose the frame side seals…but in my case I taped some 'flaps' over the sides….and water STILL poured in….

Before

Anyway - here is what i did:
Remove rubber seal from front side of roof, remove seal fron rear side of roof.
Remove the seal holders (4 screws each)

Carefully prise out the plastic screw plugs
Peal back hood material
Remove spring
pull broken cabel out
Feed a length of brake pipe through cable run
Attach new cable and pull through
Attach cable at front
Attach to spring at rear and hook up spring
Put it all back together
Job done

When you refit it all you can leave forget about fitting new rivets if you want. They're aren't really essential. The glue should hold the sides of the hood onto the frame enough.
Dont worry too much about the plastic clips being missing either. They just stop the seals from sliding about but the seals never slide anyway.
Cheers,
Ross

I have found the springs at the back, and the broken cables running through the channels at the side, but I am not sure what I'm looking for for where they attach at the front. Any ideas?

The cable runs through the side of the hood and appears out of a hole just behind the front side flap of hood fabric that gets glued to the frame. Hopefully you can see in this pic what I mean…

If you can see both ends of the old cable join the new and old cable together securely with a tough bit of cord so you can pull the new cable through the hood…
