hood fluid?

hi i would like to ask a quetion.i have a gti conv 1990.when topping up the level on the hydrolic roof,should it be at the max line with the roof up or down?also if i can be so bold,how do you bleed the air out of it?i have got some air out but i need someone to tell me the correct way to do this.please please can you let me no.i have no manual and i cant get one!!!i feel like a blind person in a dark room with a load of deaf people with perfect sight that no where the exit is

I'm sure Walt topped up his a few months back :dontknow: so he would know. If in doubt go to VAG and ask them.
