HELP!!! MK1 DOOR LOCKING ROD BALL ACHE!!!!
Whilst having a gander at the insides of my cabby door and pondering central locking (and playing about with the lock mechanism) i undid the door pin and the lock rod came free of the hole and also free of the lock mechanism

Then you can fit two rods on the plastic levers that go into the door recess.
These have 2 holes one for an actuating rod for the solenoid and one that goes to the lock pin rod.
They are fiddley to fit back together.
I disconnected the door lever using the 4 bolts so the door opening rod had more movement.

before you remove the block first pull the inner door handle open fully, then look underneath the block you'll see a hole. poke somethign suitably long and thin into it (metal!) and this will wedge the inner handle lever in the open position. once this is done removing and refitting the lock block is a doddle
