Headlamp replacement??
Hello all. I have a 91 J plate Golf rivage and for some odd reason I noticed that my lens is missing of my drivers headlight? I'm not sure if it has literally fallen off or these are very stealable?
Anyway after spending a=some time covering up the area with a plastic bag I need to get a replacement that I want to fit myslef.
the only problem is there seems to be a bit of confusion regarding which model I should fit to my after 83 model?
I have found someone selling new ones on ebay. its an original hella and has the code 1L8121151-011. On the lens there is also a code of 302-115827.
Does anyone know if this is the right one as there seems to be a few variations?
there is also someone selling one with a code of 191941753 and 1a800419007. Does this make any sense to anyone?
As I said i have a 91 green rivage gti?
finally I really want to buy myself a haynes manual but cannot for the life of me find the correct one? I presume this is general knowledge within this site but can anyone help me with which one is best to purchase for my mk1?
As always your help is appreciated.
Thanks guys!

the one you want is same as MK1 Golf, the MK2 isnt the same. however if the old lamp and the mk2 lamp are both hella, you can with care swpa the lamp unit from the mk2 frame to the mk1 frame. and yes the lenses do just fall off with age!
both of these lamps are sold without the back plate though, so in theory could use either to fix your lamp. but its a bit tricky and more often than not you'll break the plastic clips.
this one will do you:

or these:

GSF sell them new part number 942VG0050, for 37+VAT. pretty certain they'll be genuine hella at that price but best to call and confirm

Thanks and thanks...
Rubjonny and Bignormrivage thanks so much for your help. Knowing I can get my hands on that manual is music to my ears and have just bought myself the headlamp.
Really appreciate people helping me out.
If you ever see a green Rivage with the plate J450NJO give me a toot!
Cheers

Hi Jon,
My headlight lens just fell out last week!
How did you get on? Removing the headlight from the backing plate is not going well at all……
