Fuel Filler Tube

I would like to replace the fuel filler on my mk1 but before buying the part i would like to know how this is done. Do I need to take other parts of to install the new fuel filler or can I untie the old one and install the new one, plus do I need a bridge to put my car on or can i just lay down underneath, or is there maybe a hatch from the inside?

I have fuel Filler necks - well actually I'm, out of stoick for a couple of weeks  ops: but I should have more in then.

It's quite straight forward job to do which can be done once the rear of the car has been jacked and is safely supported with axle stands.
