Front spoiler fitting problem

Have a slight problem and slightly unexpected really! I had to put a new front end on the cabby which was a good quality pattern part, and to go with it, a non GTI front spoiler.  Now the problem is the front panel has circular fitting holes and the spoiler has square onescf_emoticons__BangHead:  Is there a solution to this or should I just not bother with the spoiler?

Can you just use some small bolts and bolt the splitter to the front end, just screw the through the square holes of the splitter?

Use some short bolts as suggested. Just make sure you use some large washers against the spoiler to stop the head of the bolts pulling through.

I used machine screws with washers and nuts and it's still on at the moment!

The small spoiler was originally securing using plastic clips which are the same as used to hold the plastic radiator grille on. The larger GTI spoiler uses bolts. By all means use bolts & washers though.

I've just fitted new pattern front lips to both my cars, and both have round holes in the metalwork and rectangular holes in the spoilers. (neither has had any new metalwork)

The secret is to use original clips, which are designed with a square part to locate the spoiler and a round pin which goes through the metal lip and locks in place with an inner pin.

The clips can be a little fragile - I put them in hot water before fitting to soften them

Great stuff! Thank you for all your help guys I will probably get the original style plastic clips to keep it a bit more OEM, but failing that the bolts will be the next best thing.
