front grill

Just ordered a front grill (3parts) from gsf and I'm wondering how do you get the red stripe round it and what the exact colour? As my car is silver should I do the surround silver as well. Also the grill I have on at the moment is in one part (twin headlights) held on with a cable tie, Which vw was that off?

Erm, with great difficulty.

The red surround is metal which clips onto the plastic with some little tabs, same system as the chrome ones.

They are fairly difficult to get hold of.

I managed to get an old chrome one for a friend which can be resprayed Mars Red. Yea you heard me chrome fiends I'M PAINTING A CHROME GRILL RED!

As for the shade of Mars Red, see old website, anyone know where all the old stuffs gone?

Dubboy pointed out that the red used was from a supplier so may not be exactly the same as VW Mars Red paint anyway.

I cant remember where the old old forum is! Drew posted the link on the old fourm but I cant find it! Any ideas anyone? Crasher had a possible solution for fixing the 99mpg MFA problem on it.
