front bumper trouble

Hello everyone i am new here just purchased an 87' gti cab, the front bumper (clipper) doesn't look like it's fitted right as it looks to high, it sits just under the headlights, i've seen proper clippers and the front bumper seems to have a gap of about an inch, do i need a later bumper carrier or can i modify the  existing  on  :dontknow: any help would be great, many thanks ian

It may have a differnt clipper kit on it. You could try unbolting the front bumper and bolting it back up a bit lower, I seem to remember there being a little bit of play with the bolt holes.  If your struggling to locate the four bolts they are on the inside of the two front chassis members.

if your clipper kit is fitted properly it should be attatched to the front arches too so be carefull not to damage them when if you un fasten the front bumper.
