Driver's door seal?

yes yes, i know there's a thread on this already, but the links take me to a website that only seems to do campers, beetles and the like, no golfs.

so i've replaced my driver's door, but before i did so, i ordered a new seal from GPC. the guy said the seals weren't sided, so i just got one, but, guess what? they are sided, and i've got the wrong one!!! dammit.

the part number on the sealed bag that i got was 171 837 911 H but on www.vagcat.com it lists 173 837 911 H as the part number for the door seal, is this the difference between sides?

173 837 911 H is the correct part no. for '4 door' front door seal.  171 837 911 H is a pt no for a door seal but which one I couldn't say, maybe a 2 door one??
