Door Rip Plates !

Hi
Does anyone know if the rip plates made for the MK2 Golf - Corrado will fit Mk1's ?  I don't see why they won't . Just wondering if anyone has fitted them . Thanks any feedback is appriceated . If your not sure what im talking about they on ebay Item number: 180682881084 .. The Armour door plates are a bit old hat and well out off fashion now .
