Does anyone fancy doing some welding?
The shell is in pretty good order (thats why we bought it) and in the slow 5 years that we've had it (ive been at uni) weve had a new VAG front panel put on and its stripped back to a bare shell and up on a homemade spit at a ood working height (makes things sooooo much easier lol).
Anyway, stripping the underside back to bare metal revealed only a few small areas of corrosion which Ive patched with fresh steel, however the car has metal 'weld over the top' sills on it that I was convinced were hiding the original nasty rotten ones.
This was confirmed when I ground off an old patch to reveal a rusty hole in the rear box section and also discovered that the 'professional' welder who had done the rear arches had just filled a nasty rusty hole with about an inch of black silicon bodge instead of telling us it was rotten

Anyway as its this stripped I want to do this thing properly so I reckon those sills need to come off and the old ones need to be cut away. The inners are solid so no worries there (as far as I can see anyway).
The real issue is that I dont really have the time or welding skill to tackle the sills on my own so wondered is anyone with the knowledge and skill fancied coming down and doing them for me?
You can use my welder, we'll provide the panels etc and as much tea/biccys as you can handle and obviously get paid to do it also.
Anyone interested? the car is tucked up in a warm spacious double garage near farnham (hants/surrey) with lighting and a radio. Like I said we'd really appreciate it as we just want to get the project moving again but want to do it right!
