dampers and springs

hi guys
im in a bit of confusion about what spring will fit on an 83 driver, ive been told cabriolet ones wont fit and neither will caddy ones is this just nonsense? would gti dampers also fit an 83 driver? any help to clear this up would be appreciated

Hi,the ONLY spring that would fit my mk1 diesel were cabriolet springs,believe me i tried 11 different makes,the bottom and top coil are a different thickness to the other coils and they seat on the shocker correctly.
