Cabriolet roll bar sticky back foam?

Im still on the look out for the stuff that goes on top the roll bar of the mk1 golf cabriolet :cry: , I think it is there to protect the headlining. Mine is all scuffed to pieces please somone must know where i can get this stuff!!??  

Mine was on the way out so I covered it with sticky backed felt. Took a while to get it spot on but it looks brilliant now, actually it looks better than the foam stuff, worth a try until you can find a replacement.

That actually a really good idea    where did you get it from?? Have you got any pics of how it turned out?

I have tried mate but it's too dark and the pics haven't come out very well at all. Black on black you see.

they sell this item on ebay its a sticky back replacement foam strip

I did see it on there at one point but not for a long time now. Which is typical!!

i know it hard to find just put in vw mk1 golf and you should find some seen some last week when i was looking for a gasket set so good hunting wiggy.
