Back panel????????

Th gti cabby that i recently purchased has believe it or not 2 rear exhausts one at either side. Looks absolute TOSS! .  What the previous owner was thinking of i dont know.
Anyway needless to say i want shut and im going to replace with 1 single pipe. Although this will leave a gaping gap where it used to be on the drivers side as mines only small bumpers. has anyone any ideas short of welding and filling.?

New rear panel - I have  a cab panel.

If the panel is OK I'd stitch in new metal and skim it over.
