won't start again once warm?

 i have a 1800 8v k~jet dx engine. starting it for the 1st thing isn't a problem but if i run 10 miles down the road then turn it off it will not restart for sometime? :dontknow: any idea's people please??

This comes up quite a lot, its a fairly common issue for GTIs. I did a search and found lots of threads, for example:

(Search button is at top of screen and I tried the terms "hot starting"). Basically:

- leaky injectors
- accumulator not working properly (loses pressure, fuel in lines in engine bay then vapourises)
- coil or hall sender unreliable when hot
- plain old badly tuned/set up

i had this problem.

it was the metering head the plunger in the centre was a bit dodge.

good clean up and hey presto.
