which metering head??

which metering head can I fit and will work on my mk 1 gti 1,8DX engine from 1983??
It now has a 0 438 100 100 bosch unit fitted.
Does the one from a mark II gti 16v fit and work, the one with K-jetronic, not KE jetronic???
I want to try another one, my hesistating problem gets worse and cant find a mk1 gti around here in Spain.

So what are the alternatives…?

Not sure about the Bosch numbers, but the VW parts number for an mk1 1800 GTI metering head is 049 133 481 LX . This is same for the K-Jetronic Mk2 GTI with an EV enegine, so should be ineterchangable.

I saw a few porsches 924 on the breakers yard but they seem to have different metering heads. The code on the porsche was bosch 0438 100 008.
And mine says bosch 0438 100 100. I informed at bosch for a new one and they told me it costs 1000 euros.
There are no more service pieces available for mine.

The main metering head differences are based on the size and shape of the air flap chamber

You could try contacting these people… www.vws.me.uk Went there a while ago looking for 1.6 metering head, they had a load of various 1.8 ones for about ?30 each. Their website says they do mail order abroad.
