What head for my Late Spec mk1 gti 8v k jet?

hi peeps,im currently doing an 8v gti at work, that needs a new head, as the waterways have erroded the head almost to the headbolt holes underneath, and keeps blowing head gaskets.

I have got another head here, but it does not have the little breather / vacuum pipe between inlet ports 3 and 4, that goes to the inlet elbow boot thing? also ,the injector inserts are the larger plastic type, rather than the 2 part brass and plastic one from my original head?

can i use this head? will the injectors still fit into the injector inserts? and does it matter that the breatehr / vacuum pipe will be missing / blocked??

any help appreciated, as i need it back on the road soon, its being painted this week at work,and the customer wants it back asap, so i need to get this sorted for him asap..

So long as its not a digifant head, it will be okay. injector stuff can be swapped around as needs be, and the vacuum pipe isn't that important, you could connect whatever needs to be, somewhere else etc.

its deffo not a digifant head, as it has 5 cam caps, and digi ones only have 4 cam caps…..

also, i was running it on a digifant a while back, and had to drill the injector inserts out to fit mk2 injectors into it, as it was on a track engine, that was running a wild mk1 cam.

the head was onyl removed due to fitting a race spec'd port and polished one…

So deffo a mk1 head, i'll get some new inserts on order them, and get this one ready to go on :-)
