things to look out for on a 1.8 gti cab?

wondered if you could help.i currently have a mk3 golf 2.0 gti 8v and i fancy a change.im going to look at a mk1 1.8gti cab and wondered what common problems they have and what to look out for.i know 2 of the side trims on the outside of the door and rear wing are missing for a start,are these easy to get hold of and how much would they cost.also i am told it is in good condition and if it is,how much should i pay,1 years mot,no tax and its grey/silver with b/bumpers on a 1987,thanks
