Single speed cooling fan... Suppliers?

Looking for a single speed radiator cooling fan for my 83 GTI, but unable to source a supplier.
Any ideas who might still have these in stock?

2 pin? Presume it'll be hunting down a 2nd hander, or popping a 3 pin plug on (or making an adapter to make for an easy return to original!) and 3 pin fan.

I'm not aware of any new ones being available… Happy to be proven wrong though!

I'd have thought they were freely available, but if you get stuck, I have a secondhand one in good condition.

Yes its a 2 pin one i require but my present one works perfect just has a little bit of play on it, and some small chips out of the blades.
I just wanted to replace it with a new one………Call it OCD….lol.

if it as me id get mk2 golf 2 speed one along with the sensor and all the wiring. dead easy as it only requires 2 wires to the car loom, red - live, brown - earth. mk2 fan loom unplugs next to the radiator.

I managed to get to the scrappies and get the 3 pin plug and sensor plug with 12" of loom on it.
I will just need to find out how to wire it.
Obviously 2 of the orginal wires will just link to the standard wires……………What about the extra new one?

so you want to keep the 2 pin sensor? if so just figure out which pin is the fan slow speed and splice that to the old loom, leave the 2nd speed alone. 2 speed wont work without the 3 pin sensor unfortunatly.

you coudl wire up an emergency dash switch to the fast speed though

I just checked my new loom from the scrappies.
So i just get a 2 speed fan, 2 temp sensor and just splice the 2 wires into my original loom  8)

exactomundo. if you also cut off the 2 pin plug car side you can splice that to your car loom, then your mk2 fan loom will plug right in. that way if in future you need to change the fan loom for another one it'll be plug n play

if you have the right spade terminals you coudl crimp them onto the end of the mk1 wires and pop the mk2 plug on

the 100/60w is std fit mk2 1.8 gti so will be just fine

They dont make the 2 pin fan anymore. I searched for days and everywhere says its a discontinued item.

i settled for a 3 pin 2 speed fan and just used the 2 pin sensor. I snipped the fan plug off and put two spade connectors on fitting them to the two outer pins on the fan. it works fine.
