poor start up

I have a slight problem with my y-reg mk1 gti 1800. it has recently had a service and has quite new plugs and leads. Sometimes when the car is started the engine seems very lumpy like its miss firing and then the revs go down and it cuts out almost straight away. It only seems to happen if the car is driven for quite a long time, then stopped and restarted within about 5-10 minutes. Does anyone have any ideas, please i need help as is driving me mad.  cheers   Kit  

the engine is a 1.8 8v could it be anything to do with the start up regulator please help i really need to sort it out.   kit   

I haven't tried this myself but a few guys on the forum have done it and thats to disconnect the coldstart injector (5th injector).  Its on the inlet manifold on the far left.

It may make starting take a little longer, but they do cause rough running if they jam open when the engine has warmed up.  Give it a try you won't hurt  it and then you can rule one bit out.
