MK1 Gti mixture issue

Right my golf was running a treat today but it had a very slightly uneven idle… so i fiddled around with the mixture and now it wont work!!
Does anyone know what the mixture screw should be set to to get it running?

the throttle body one if you wind it out that increases the idle by letting more air in so make sure thats 3 to 4 turns out to start with then adjust the main mixture screw are the plugs soaking wet with fuel?

if so dry and clean then try and start :wink:

Havent had time to go in-depth as yet, was basically wondering if there was a start up mixture tweak i can do on the main mixture screw as i have totally lost count of where it is..

not really youd need a c0 tester to get it to where it should be however ive always managed to get it done by smelling the fumes and getting high works tho  :lol:  :lol:

if you screw it down it will lean it up i belive been along time since i played with the k-jet system :wink:

Clockwise = richer.

If you're lean, you can squirt cold start into the air box to make it run
if you're rich, holding the throttle part open during starting will help

im crap with carbs  :lol:  :lol:

your best bet is to get down an mot station and bribe them with beer tokens to set the c0 up on there machine :wink:

:-) they only trade in sheep around here mate, beer doesnt interest them - it just makes the ugly sheep a bit better looking  :lol:

so no ideas where the screws would be to adjust the mixture?
