Misfiring this morning (-7 degC - brrr!)
Hi all
My GTi wasn't happy in the cold this morning, it had a constant misfire on 1 or possibly even 2 cylinders for about 20 min until the oil temp got to 80 degC.
Anyone had a similar problem? I'm guessing a problem with the ignition.
Cheers

take the dizzy cap off and have a look, my cuz's mk2 has this prob and due to where the dizzy is it gets the water and salt from the road at it, all his contacts on his new cap had rust and crub on them, cleaned them up and it was fine, I sugested he looked at the rubber glove technique the mini boys used to use. get a marigold and cut the tips of the fingers off, feed the dizzy leads through and pull down over the dizzy…job done.

Cheers m7r, I'll take a look at the dizzy cap tonight. I've ordered some new plugs too, they're due for a change soon anyway.
Lol at the rubber glove - I remember 'installing' a marigold on my first car, a 1098 Mini Clubman estate. I've probably still got it somewhere - the glove that is.
