High REvs

The motor is still running at about 1500rpm when it idles even after it has warmed up.

Only thing that seems to bring the revs down is turning of and on again which causes a slight drop.

ANy ideas and possible fixes. What sort of revs should it running at when warm..

First off test the auxiliary air valve.

Clamp the rubber hoise that comes off it:

Revs drop when cold

Revs stay the same when hot

Indicates that the AAV is working correctly - anything else and it is not working correctly.

Did you get this sorted? I'm having the same problem

Yeah the Idle stablisation valve thingy just behind the manifold on the right hand side as you look at the engine. That was the problem. One of the wires going into it had broke off. Once I reattached the problem went away.

Hope that sorts yours out mate.

Cheers,
That's more than likely it! I've been buggering around around there quite a bit recently, I'll have a look.
