high oil temp

someone help please  i own a mk1 golf 1.8gti which ofcourse i adore
but were going thru a bit of a love hate relationship at the moment shes giving me a bit of trouble…..started off by blowing top rad hose…..not a problem friendly gsf were able to pretty much source replacements for all the hoses

so i replaced with a new one….so that shouldnt be the problem……but i dont know what to try next

i really want to be able to drive my car again without one eye on the oil temp and one on the engine temp as this leaves me with no eyes to look where im going…..please heeeeeeeeeelllllllpppppppp….

also remove the temp sender, sit in a bow and pour oiling water in it, then put a thermometer in it and see what it reads and check this against the mfa, - mine reads 6deg high.
another thing is move the sender. mine now sits on a sandwich plate between the oil filter and housing, and agai this improved the accuracy of the temp as its in the main oil stream.
