High idle intially
Hello people - I've got an issue with my Campaign that my mechanic couldn't solve, I wonder if anyone on here can shed any light. I've got a 2 litre conversion in there which runs really well but after a long period of being off the road it recently had a full service and all the brakes done and now she's running again. One of the problems I have is that it starts up and revs to 2000, and it stays idling at that speed. After about 10 minutes driving (doesn't seem to matter what style) it rights itself and settle at about 950-1000 revs. Is that nnot the warm up valve or something like that? (Guessing)
As I said it recently had a good service but that couldn't be corrected.
Any help appreciated. Thanks
Simon

check the AAV, its near the inlet with a hose out of either end. it should have a 2 pin plug which gets 12v whenever the fuel pump is live

Thanks - what should I be checking for? That the plug is getting power? Also - haven't got a picture of it have you? Thanks!

Symptoms of the AAV not working are high idle when warm, so the high idle when cold doesn't seem to match, as it should always be fully open when cold to allow as much air through as possible.
Presuming you're still running K-Jet, it sits on the back of the injection manifold towards the offside (driver's side) and has a single electrical connector, one airhose going in, and one air hose coming out. It's mounted to the back of the head with two allen bolts. Mine's buggered at the moment too.
Check that it's getting an electrical feed when the engine's cold, and continues to get a feed when hot. If it does, it's possible it's seized inside, in which case they can be cleaned (mine couldn't) using carb cleaner. Failing that, get a replacement.
