Hi,
Just found out my cylinder head gasket has gone, what’s the consensus on rebuild/repair or replacement and what sort of price have people paid for either, is their much difference?
Thanks

Easier on a gasser than a diesel.
You will want new gaskets, and bolts as the head bolts are Stretch bolts single use items.
You can use ARP Racing Studs, they are stud and nuts that can be reused in the future.
Might as well do the timing belt, water pump, tensioner and motor mount while you are at it.
Hint. The rear 2 driver side engine mount bolts are Allen bolts, and can be difficult.
Replace them with the same sized Grade10 Hex bolt easier to get in and out with a ratcheting box wrench.
In my youth, ok I was about 35-40. I could do a head gasket on my diesel bunny in 3-4 hours.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?
