eyes watering

hi all, i,ve this prob now for years with my mk1 gti, on tick over its lumpy like its running on 3, when you rev her she sounds good then when you rev above 5000rpm it sounds like its flooding. after a short time running in the garage i have to get out because of the fumes! try and drive her and again its like its flooding but will rev better if stationary. i,ve changed the metering head and it wouldnt even start, changed the injectors and injector fuel lines aswell ( off ebay second hand ) help !! if you can

have you had the mix adjusted, it needs to be about 1.5% co any mot place can put it on there machine then use a long 3mm hex key through the hole in top of airbox, it only needs tiny adjustments to make a big difference

i had to mess with that just to get her to start.

then it will definately need resetting on a gas analyser. dont bother trying to guess as it only takes a tiny adjustment for it to be way off
