engine swap mk1 to a DIGIfant

how hard is this swap mk2 1.9 8vavle into mk1 83 gti how hard what i need and ne help commments welcome ive got  ecu for it but were i get loom from etc etc

We are hopefully doing this soon.

Just picked up the lump with box and loom etc. Although the loom has been buthchered a bit…..

wicked how and what do you have to do to the loom to make it work on mk1 then and nething else that might need then ??? just curious as never done it so need help lol !!! thanks

Getting there with mine…..

Engine is in mated to original gearbox, I had to drill ot the holes on the block and put two high tensile 8mm bolts through to attach the drivers side eng mount.
I used the original alternator as the multiplugs are different.
I have moved the coil but need to move it again as I need to cut a big hole in the bulkhead for the massive grommet for the wiring to the ecu.
As far as I can see at the moment the engine wiring loom is all you need wiring wise. The coil either needs wiring modifying from the engine loom or use a mk2 coil. Next problem is the airbox, using standard might mean re-locating the washer bottle but a cone filter will solve this.
As soon as my ignition is wired back in (car was stolen and only spade connectors remain no multiplug so am struggling with how to wire it!!!) I will see if it barks!
Will keep you posted on progress.
