Engine re-conditioners...anyone recommend a good 'un
Evening all,
I'm looking to find a spot on place to have a 1.8 16v KR & gearbox completely reconditioned in the north west. I've been in contact with the engine shop in erith, kent as advertised in PVW, Golf+ etc. and they sound spot on, they also have experience of shipping recon engines to where i live in Spain.
Problem is I am hoping to buy an engine that's for sale in the north west and so it would be so much easier to have it taken somewhere up there for the work.
Can anyine recommend me a suitable place? Cheshire, Lancs, Manchester etc?

I bought a watercooled engine for my T25 from the engine shop and it wasnt great. It blew up after a few miles threw a rod out of the top

Personally i would avoid the engine shop. They rebuild a lot of aircooled VW engines and with some what limited success.
