DX engine code

Hi, bottom end has gone on me Gti DX engine total right off and i have been offered a EV code engine off GTIMAD
Question is can you swap them over, the head on mine is spot on. Thanks folks

very early mk2 gti's had dx engines, the rest were ev's until the pb engines wich were digipant injection and not k-jet
