Coolant Hose split

Hi guys new on here.

Purchased an 84' A Reg 1.6 Cabby a couple of months back. No issues with it until now, car has been great.

I was sat in traffic on sunday and suddenly plumes of steam came from the side of my bonnet. First checked my rad but all was fine. Put water in it and saw it gushing through one of the hoses that lead from the Block into the heater matrix. Its the rubber one not the metal one. Ive called all VW's in Birmingham and also VW Heritage. I've been told that the part I need is 'Obselete' for this car. Im going to past an ad in the breaking section but I was wondering if anybody knew if there is a pipe off any other VW, Audi etc i'll be able to use?

part number is 171121611an, price €14. you can either order it from them direct, try your dealer again as some of them are signed up to vw classic parts, alternatively try big boys toys as they're a uk distributor for vwcp. i think crazyquiff is as well.

you can use any 1.6-1.8 mk1, cabby or scirocco pipe though. also mk2/3 golf 1.8-2.0 8v/16v pipe fits the head but you'll need a reducer as the diameter at the matrix is slightly bigger i think?
