Clicking intermediate shaft - Help!
I've got the cam belt off at the moment and noticed that the intermediate shaft is making a clicking noise when it rotates. There are several clicks per revolution. Is this likely to be a worn oil pump or a problem with the bearings?
Thanks

Spoke to Growers today about this - didn't notice it when we had the engine but I'm a bit stumped on what this might be - can only be dizzy oroil pump??
He's going to pull the shaft to see.
Let me know how you get on.
Cheers

Hi Rich,
My mistake ops: - when I bolted the nearby engine mount bracket on the clicking stopped. The bracket clamped the thin metal inner 'cover' (not fitted to the old engine) down a bit which must have been interfering with the intermediate pulley.
Now I've got the engine running, just need to sort out a loud squeal (water pump I think, maybe because it's been standing a while) and a flashing oil light (need to check I've got the 2 oil pressure sensor wires the right way round).
